Former CNN anchor Don Lemon has filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk and X (formerly Twitter) for abruptly canceling his talk show. The complaint, filed on August 1st, alleges breach of contract, fraud, negligent misrepresentation, and misappropriation of his name and likeness.
The lawsuit claims that after Musk's takeover led to advertiser exodus, Musk and X executives lured Lemon with promises of creative freedom and a lucrative deal. Despite Lemon's reservations, Musk assured him no formal agreement was needed. Lemon's show was canceled in March after a heated interview with Musk.
Lemon seeks economic, noneconomic, and punitive damages.
