Anker has recently revamped its wall charger, addressing a common frustration: the charger slipping out of outlets, especially when all three USB ports are in use. The new Anker Prime Charger, designed with usability in mind, could offer a much smoother experience.

The most significant improvement isn't in the charger's power output but in its physical design. Anker has equipped the Prime Charger with thicker prongs that feature a "frosted finish," which the company believes will help the six-ounce device stay securely plugged in. This redesign comes after users of earlier models reported issues with the charger disconnecting due to its size and weight.

With the shift from silicon to gallium nitride (GaN) components, modern chargers like the Prime Charger can deliver more power while remaining compact. However, the added power and extra USB ports have sometimes made these chargers too bulky to stay plugged in securely. To combat this, Anker's previous models included a silicone suction cup accessory to help stabilize the charger in the outlet. Now, with the new Prime Charger, Anker has re-engineered the device's center of gravity and added textured, thicker prongs to keep it firmly in place, even when multiple devices are connected.

The $84.99 Anker Prime Charger offers two USB-C ports, each capable of delivering 100W, and one USB-A port with a maximum output of 22.5W. When using all three ports, the total power output decreases to 89W, which is still sufficient to charge a phone, smartwatch, and headphones simultaneously.

In addition to the wall charger, Anker introduced other products in its Prime lineup, including desktop chargers with adjustable charging modes and app connectivity, allowing users to monitor and manage power output from their smartphones.
