Google has unveiled a new app called Pixel Screenshots, exclusive to its Pixel 9 series, that revolutionizes how you manage your screenshots. This AI-driven tool, powered by Google’s on-device Gemini Nano AI model, allows you to not only save and organize your screenshots but also makes them searchable.
During their recent Pixel launch event, Google demonstrated the app's capabilities. For example, after taking a screenshot, you can categorize it into a collection like “gift ideas” or use a keyword search, such as “bikes” or “shoes,” to retrieve relevant screenshots from your library. This feature is particularly useful for those who tend to forget about the screenshots saved on their devices.
Pixel Screenshots goes beyond simple organization. It can analyze the content of your screenshots and provide specific information. For instance, if you’ve taken a screenshot of a t-shirt and want to know its price, you can search “t-shirt price,” and the app will pull up the necessary details from the image.
Unlike similar features, like Microsoft's delayed Windows Recall, which scans everything on your device, Pixel Screenshots only analyzes the screenshots you choose to capture. This gives users more control over their privacy while still offering the convenience of AI-powered searchability.
This innovative tool is available exclusively on Pixel 9 devices, enhancing the user experience by making your screenshot library more accessible and manageable.
