Recent leaks have given us another look at Huawei’s much-anticipated triple-screen folding phone. Spy photos of the device were captured with Huawei’s consumer group CEO, Yu Chengdong, holding the gadget, which was shared on Weibo by user Whylab and reported by Android Authority.
The tri-fold device, when folded, seems as slim as current foldable models like the Samsung Galaxy Fold 6, despite still featuring a noticeable camera bump. Rumors suggest that when fully unfolded, the phone offers a 10-inch display, slightly larger than other foldable phones, which typically provide an 8-inch screen. Sources also indicate that the official launch could be as soon as next month.
Last week, another image surfaced showing Chengdong using the unfolded device on a plane. The image highlighted visible creases on the screen and a small front-facing camera located on the top-left corner.
While tri-fold OLED phones have largely been experimental concepts or prototypes showcased by companies like Xiaomi and TCL, Huawei seems poised to push this technology into the mainstream. Even industry leader Samsung displayed its Flex S tri-fold concept at CES in 2022, indicating growing interest in this design.
With more details potentially emerging soon, the tech world is watching closely to see if Huawei’s upcoming release will set new benchmarks for foldable devices.
