Exciting news for high-speed internet enthusiasts: Frontier is rolling out its new 7-gig fiber plan across several states, promising some of the fastest internet speeds available. At $309.99 per month, this plan offers symmetrical 7Gbps upload and download speeds, unlimited monthly data, and an upgraded Wi-Fi 7 router.
Currently, Frontier serves fiber internet in 25 states, including major ones like California, Texas, Florida, New York, and Minnesota. Until now, the company had been offering 2-gig and 5-gig plans, but this new 7-gig option significantly boosts their speed offering. While Frontier is the first to make 7Gbps available nationwide, it’s not the cheapest in the ultra-high-speed category. Google Fiber, for example, offers an 8Gbps plan for $150 per month but only in select cities like San Antonio, Salt Lake City, and Mesa. Optimum also offers an 8-gig plan for $300 per month, though it’s limited to the New York tristate area.
The competition is heating up as other internet providers expand their fiber options. AT&T is extending its 5-gig plans to more locations in California, and Comcast is expanding its gigabit-speed fiber network, while also offering cable internet with 2-gig speeds for both uploads and downloads.
As high-speed internet options continue to grow, Frontier's new 7-gig plan stands out for its impressive speeds and nationwide availability.
