Bang & Olufsen has recently introduced its latest premium headphones, the Beoplay H100, with a hefty price tag of $1,549. These headphones surpass the company's previous model, the H95, in terms of both price and features. The Beoplay H100 is designed with high-end materials and offers enhanced noise cancellation and a focus on repairability to extend their lifespan.
The ear pad cushions, made from lambskin leather, and the headband cushions are easily replaceable, addressing a common issue with wear and tear. Additionally, the headphones feature a revamped design that simplifies the repair or replacement of key components such as batteries, drivers, and circuit boards. This is a significant advantage for those investing in such a costly product, ensuring that the headphones won't become obsolete just because the battery fails.
The Beoplay H100 delivers sound through custom-made 40-millimeter titanium drivers and supports high-resolution 96kHz/24-bit audio, along with Dolby Atmos spatial audio. The active noise-cancellation (ANC) is powered by 10 microphones, which reportedly double its effectiveness compared to previous models. An adjustable haptic dial on the ear cups allows users to switch between ANC and transparency modes.
In terms of battery life, the Beoplay H100 offers 32 hours with ANC enabled, slightly less than the H95's 38 hours. With features like spatial audio and head tracking activated, the battery life drops by another two hours. Similar to Apple's AirPods Max, these headphones automatically power on when worn, enter low-power mode when removed, and shut off completely when placed in the carrying case. A quick five-minute charge provides up to five hours of playback in case the battery runs low.
The Beoplay H100 is now available for purchase on Bang & Olufsen’s website and comes in three color options: infinite black, hourglass sand, and sunset apricot.
