Apple’s upcoming iOS 18 update will introduce a handy new feature for iPhone users: the ability to pause video recordings directly from the Camera app. Set to roll out on September 16th, this feature will be available for all iPhones compatible with iOS 18, unlike the broader "Camera Control" tools which are exclusive to the iPhone 16.
With the new pause function, users can now film multiple segments within a single video without needing to start and stop separate recordings. The Camera app will include a pause button that switches to a record button once the video is paused. Additionally, while paused, users can switch camera lenses to adjust zoom or focal length.
This update was previewed in the iOS 18 Release Candidate beta, which Apple distributed to developers after the "It’s Glowtime" iPhone 16 event. This feature aims to make video recording more flexible and seamless, enhancing the overall user experience.
