Analogue is introducing a fresh lineup of colors for its Analogue Pocket handheld, taking cues from Nintendo’s classic Game Boy Color. The new "GBC Colors Edition" features six shades: teal, berry, kiwi, grape, and dandelion—mirroring the original Game Boy Color's launch colors from 1988—along with a gold variant reminiscent of a Pokémon Gold special edition.
This limited-edition collection will be available for preorder starting September 12th at 8AM PT / 11AM ET, priced at $249.99 each. Orders are expected to ship within 24 to 48 hours.
To ensure the colors match Nintendo's original hardware, Analogue used high-quality equipment and compared new samples with Game Boy Color units from various production years, ensuring the hues remained true to the originals.
Launched in 2021, the Analogue Pocket supports Game Boy Color cartridges and also works with Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Game Gear games (with an adapter). It has previously been offered in special editions, including glow-in-the-dark, transparent shells, and a premium $499 aluminum model.
Looking ahead, Analogue plans to release the Analogue 3D, a device promising full compatibility with N64 cartridges and 4K output, utilizing FPGA technology to replicate the original N64 experience more accurately than emulators.
