Google Search has introduced a new feature that integrates links to archived websites from the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine. This update comes as a response to the recent removal of cached page links from search results, offering a valuable alternative for those who miss the ability to view previous versions of webpages.
The Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, a tool with access to billions of archived web pages, allows users to view snapshots of websites from various points in the past, sometimes dating back decades. This tool proves especially useful for tracking changes on websites over time.
Danny Sullivan from Google’s Search team hinted at this development earlier in the year, following the removal of cached page links. Now, it appears that Google has implemented the integration as he hoped. According to recent information from Google and 9to5Google, users can access Wayback Machine links by clicking on the three dots next to a search result and selecting "More about this page."
While this feature is being rolled out today, it may take some time before it is available to all users.
