AFCFTA AWARDS INNOVATORS N20M, OTHER PRIZES AT HACKATHON 2025
Lagos, Nigeria's economic nerve center and a globally recognized tech hub, provided the perfect backdrop for Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement, AfCFTA Hackathon 2025 event, dubbed Science of Trade. The event which held at Landmark Event Center showcased a vibrant startup ecosystem, an array of tech talent, and a spirit of relentless innovation, which typified the dynamism needed to generate practical solutions for the continent.
The event brought together developers, entrepreneurs, designers, policymakers, and trade experts in one of the most remarkable practical action to tackle the challenges facing intra-African trade, head-on through the power of technology and collaborative problem-solving approach.
The AfCFTA Hackathon2025 exhibited some of the most daring, innovative and ambitious tech solutions that are capable of changing the trajectory of Pan-African trade. Some of the solutions addressed E-commerce and digital trade, fintech and payment system, market access and information, capacity building and sensitization amongst others.
Team ExportPlug emerged the overall winner carting away the sum of N20million cash prize.
The team was celebrated for building a powerful export-enablement platform poised to revolutionize cross-border trade in Africa. The first runnerup was Team Get AI. The team won N10million courtesy NITDA Prize for E-Commerce Sandbox Innovation, a groundbreaking solution driving intelligent transaction automation across African marketplaces.
The second 2nd Runner-Up is Team: Syncall. The team was honored for a practical and scalable product to enhance African digital solutions for global opportunities across borders.
The event sponsors and partners pledged to mentor them and support them to scale their innovation. It is a new dawn for Africa.
