Apple’s upcoming AI features, known as Apple Intelligence, will be released later than expected, missing the initial launch of the new iPhone and iPad software updates. The AI capabilities will now start rolling out in October, a few weeks after the scheduled release of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 in September. Developers will be the first to test these features with the beta versions of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1.
In June, Apple emphasized its commitment to AI with new enhancements aimed at boosting declining sales. Apple Intelligence, designed to generate text, images, and other content on demand, will be compatible with the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and devices with the M1 chip and later. Additionally, the MacOS Sequoia update will enable iPhone screens to be mirrored on Mac computers for seamless interaction.
🔍 Why does it matter?
The delay comes after Apple decided in June to postpone the launch of three AI features due to EU regulations, which require compatibility with rival products and services. Despite these challenges, Apple continues to advance its AI initiatives to stay competitive in the evolving AI landscape.
